Sam Belitz scored four goals and Elek McDonald, Adame Leibel, Seamus Kral and Johnny Eisenmann each scored one to lead Independence to an 8-0 win over Lake Ridge Academy on Thursday.

“We played a good game against a very organized defense,” said Independence coach Ryan MacRaild. “Where they were hesitant going to the ball, we took advantage closing down and making them pay for mistakes in the back. Their keeper did a nice job on a few breakaways, but we scored on a few corners and also played some nice through balls.

Christian Streibel and Leibel each finished with two assists and Kral had one for the Blue Devils, who improved to 7-0 on the year.

Assists are Seamus 1, Christian 2, Adam 2

“Christian had some nice services into the box to our goal scorers as did Seamus,” MacRaild said. “Adam worked hard on the ball as the game got physical.”

Ethan Manelski recorded just one save in the game.

The 7-0 Blue Devils travel to Kirtland on Tuesday to play the 6-0-2 Hornets in a game that could decide the Chagrin Valley Conference Valley Division.
