    Hornets finish fourth at Cardinal Invitational

    MIDDLEFIELD—Kirtland placed three runners among the top 30 to finish fourth at the Cardinal Invitational on Saturday.

    Reilly Greenlee paced the Hornets with a time of 22:04, good for 16th place. Ainsley Borthwick finished 27th in 22:54 and Stephanie Drazetic was 30th in 22:57. Jessy Jackson (24:13), Delaney Kuczkowski (24:17), Josie Copeland (24:46), Claire Dumstorff (26:54), and Maya Hill (26:55) also ran for the Hornets.

    Kirtland’s boys’ team placed 16th.

    Brigham Weight led the Hornets with a time of 19:10. Warren Eveland (21:07), Jeremy Mrva (21:22), Noah Nead (22:24), Luke Emlaw (23:57), Daniel Booth (27:20), and Austin Booth (29:33) also competed.

    Haley Adams is a 2016 graduate of Cardinal High School. She is currently in her third year at Hiram College with a major in Communications and a minor in Writing. Haley, a three-sport standout at Cardinal, has participated in many athletic events at Hiram and plans to become a sports broadcaster.
