    Independence sweeps rival Cuyahoga Heights

    INDEPENDENCE–A tough loss at Huron on Saturday didn’t sit well with Independence’s volleyball team.

    The Blue Devils took out their frustrations on rival Cuyahoga Heights in a 3-0 sweep of the visiting Red Wolves.

    Independence won the match 25-6, 25-10, 25-7 and extended its conference winning streak to 123 straight matches.

    With the win, the Blue Devils improved to 10-3 overall and 7-0 in the Chagrin Valley Conference Metro Division. The Blue Devils can wrap up their 11th straight conference title with a win over Trinity on Thursday.

    But first, Independence travels to St. Joseph Academy on Wednesday.
