Kirtland blanks Jefferson for third straight win

    - Advertisment -

Seven different Kirtland players scored goals in an 8-0 win over at Jefferson on Tuesday.

With the win, the Hornets improved to 4-2 and clinched their third straight victory.

“It felt good to go out and take care of business tonight,” said senior goalkeeper Jack Green. “Our team remained focused throughout the game.”

Green recorded two saves and Drew Duncan added a pair of saves to help the Hornets seal their third straight shutout.

With the net locked down, Kirtland’s offense spread the wealth with Nickolas Barisic scoring two goals and Vince Carriero, Sander de Zwaan, Luka Oroz, Vince Vukovic, Dan Bak, and Aidan Whited each punching in one goal.

“The offensive support is very nice because every goal we score takes pressure off of myself and the defense,” Green said. “The defensive unit has done a great job playing hard and maintaining their shape. Also, the reserves have been effective in coming into the game to offer additional support and depth to our team.”

Barisic and Bak also recorded a pair of assists while Vukovic and Duncan assisted on one goal.

The Hornets travel to Geneva on Thursday.
