    Kirtland’s Gino Blasini signs with Miami

    Kirtland’s Gino Blasini made his commitment to Miami University official on Thursday by signing a letter of intent.

    Throughout his four years with the Hornets, Kirtland won 55 games and lost just three with two state championships, one in 2023 and one in 2020, as well as two runner-up finishes in 2021 and 2022.

    Blasini played a key role on both sides of the ball for the Hornets.

    As a senior, he recorded 42 tackles with four interceptions and he broke up 17 passes. Offensively, he caught 38 passes for 632 yards and nine touchdowns.

    For his career, he caught 64 passes for 1,171 yards and 16 touchdowns and ran for 478 yards and four scores. Defensively, he posted 183 tackles with 13 interceptions and 44 pass breakups.

    Blasini earned first-team All-Ohio honors in 2023 and second-team All-Ohio honors in 2022. He also was named first-team all-district and first-team All-Chagrin Valley Conference in both his junior and senior seasons.

    Also a standout on the Kirtland basketball and baseball teams, Blasini was a two-time second-team all-conference honoree in basketball and he is a two-time all-conference selection in baseball, having earned second-team as a sophomore and first-team last spring.
