Kirtland senior Kaley Ream signed a National Letter of Intent on Thursday to continue her education and swimming career at the University of Buffalo.
Ream, a three-time state qualifier and two-time placer, in 2019 became the first Kirtland female swimmer to qualify for the state meet.
Since then, she has set school records and returned to the state meet each season.
As a freshman, Ream won the B final in the 500-yard freestyle. The next season, she placed sixth in the 100-yard butterfly and seventh in the 500-yard freestyle.
Last season, Ream placed fourth in the 100-yard butterfly and eighth in the 500-yard freestyle.
