    Rangers take second place at Perry

    PERRY–North’s volleyball team turned in a strong showing in finishing second at the Perry tournament on Saturday.

    The Rangers opened the day with an exciting 2-1 win over the host Pirates and then advanced to the championship match with a 2-1 win over Normandy.

    Lakeview topped the Rangers in two sets of the first-place match.

    With two wins on the weekend, the Rangers improved to 5-9 on the season. The Rangers travel to Perry on Monday.

    Independence grinds out win at Crestwood

    Independence wasn’t at its best in Wednesday’s non-conference match at Crestwood but the Blue Devils grinded out a 3-0 sweep over the Red Devils.
