Senior Jack Rypinski shot a match-low 37 to lead North to a 171-186 win over visiting Madison at Lost Nation Golf Course on Monday.
Tyler Schwenk carded a 39 for the Rangers and Tyler Sauric and Dylan Miller closed out the scoring with a 42 and a 53, respectively.
“It was really exciting finally being able to lead the team and I hope I can lead the team again in the future,” Rypinski said. “I had a couple bad shots today but I just had to forget about that shot and make the next one a good one.”
Rypinski was at his best on the green.
“My putting was very strong today,” he said. “Even when I had a bad shot onto the green, I saved it with a good putt.”
With a strong outing on Monday, Rypinski gained even more confidence and he’s looking forward to the rest of the season.
“Today boosted my confidence by a lot,” he said. “I had a couple bad rounds last week but I feel really good about the future.”
The Rangers return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Erie Shores to play Madison and Geneva.
