BROOKLYN—Fairview used a 23-point fourth quarter to rally for a 73-67 win at Brooklyn on Saturday in the Chagrin Valley Conference Metro Division opener for both teams.

The Warriors trailed the host Hurricanes at halftime, 37-35, before pulling away in the final eight minutes of the game.

“In the fourth quarter, guys stepped up,” said Fairview coach Ryan Barry. “They knew what needed to be done; we got back to Fairview basketball.”

Collin Lucas scored six of his 11 points in the fourth quarter to spark the Warriors and Will Allen posted a game-high 26 points. He finished the game 10-of-14 from the floor.

Burke Lowry also scored in double figures with 22 points.

“Will is a scoring machine for us,” Barry said. “Burke does all of the dirty work for us.”

With the win, the Warriors improved to 4-0 overall and opened their first season in the CVC with a victory.

“We have to continue to trust what we do well,” Barry said. “Regardless of what the other team is throwing at us, we have to continue to execute and trust each other.”

Brooklyn dropped to 5-1 on the season.

“We’ll learn from it and go forward,” said Brooklyn head coach Jeff Shepherd, who was honored prior to the start of the contest for collecting his 200th career victory.

Jaiden Ramos finished the night with 21 points while going 9-of-12 from the field.

“He does a lot for us,” Shepherd said. “He rebounds, he’s crafty getting to the basket.”

Two more Hurricanes finished in double figures.

Anthony Pytel pitched in with 18 points (7-of-8) and Santana Sammons rounded out his night with 16 points (8-of-10).

“We’ll take what we can from this game and learn from it,” Shepherd said.

Fairview travels to Lake Catholic on Dec. 22 while Brooklyn hosts Independence on Dec. 20.
