Regional Bracket Creates Potential Local Showdowns in Girls Flag Football

South, Berkshire and Madison will compete Monday in the Girls Flag Football Regional at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

The road to the Regional Championship will run through the University of Akron on Monday night, and several Northeast Ohio programs are right in the middle of the action.

Willoughby South earned the No. 1 seed in the regional bracket and opens postseason play against No. 16 Warren G. Harding at 5 p.m. The winner advances to face either No. 8 Berkshire or No. 9 Canton McKinley in the 7 p.m. quarterfinal round.

South enters the tournament as one of the favorites after earning the top seed in a loaded field. The Rebels also landed on the same side of the bracket as Berkshire and Madison, setting up the possibility of an all-area semifinal matchup later in the evening.

Berkshire will begin its postseason run against Canton McKinley at 5 p.m. Monday. The Badgers earned the No. 8 seed and will look to advance into a potential matchup against top-seeded South in the quarterfinals.

Madison also punched its ticket into the regional and drew the No. 13 seed. The Blue Streaks will face No. 4 Fairbanks at 5 p.m., with the winner advancing to play either No. 5 Magnificat or No. 12 North Royalton at 7 p.m.
