The boys golf postseason shifts into high gear this week as area teams and individuals chase district and state tournament berths across Northeast Ohio.

Four division tournaments produced four team champions and seven medalists as Orange, Perry, Fairview and Kirtland closed out the CVC boys golf season with postseason titles. Charlie Thomas and Dylan Phillips posted the low rounds of the four tournaments with matching 72s.

Ralph Zappola earned medalist honors with a 38 as Willoughby South placed four golfers in the top five and defeated rival Eastlake North, 162-176, heading into Monday’s Chagrin Valley Conference postseason tournament.

Drew Morbeto shot a medalist 39 as Eastlake North earned its first win of the season with a 168-178 CVC victory over Hawken.

North returns three experienced starters and begins a new chapter in the CVC as the Rangers look to build under third-year coach Hannah Mitchell.
