After graduating a large senior class, the North Boys Golf team enters the 2026 season with a youthful roster and a chance to build for the future under third-year head coach Hannah Mitchell. While the Rangers finished 3-15 overall and 0-10 in Western Reserve Conference play last season, the move into the Chagrin Valley Conference provides a fresh start and an opportunity for a new core of players to take the next step.
North returns three experienced starters who will be counted on to lead both on and off the course.

Senior AJ Brown headlines the lineup after earning Western Reserve Conference Honorable Mention honors a season ago. A second-year letterman, Brown posted a 48 average over nine holes and a 95 average over 18 holes, giving the Rangers a steady veteran presence.
Juniors Vincent Amoroso and Evan Mitchell also return after earning their first varsity letters last season. Amoroso averaged 46 on nine-hole rounds and 92 over 18 holes, while Mitchell recorded averages of 49 and 97. Both golfers gained valuable varsity experience as sophomores and are expected to take on larger leadership roles this fall.
Mitchell believes the Rangers’ greatest strength will be the growth opportunities available to both returning players and newcomers.

“We lost a large senior class last season, so our team has great potential to grow this year,” Mitchell said. “Our underclassmen will have an opportunity to perform at a higher level and grow as golfers throughout the season. We are also excited to have a new group of golfers join our team and develop their skills.”
Developing leadership and making smarter decisions on the course will be priorities throughout the season.
“In order to be successful this season, we are focusing on developing leadership with our upperclassmen players,” Mitchell said. “They have experience in competitive golf and will both help build our team and serve as role models for our younger players. In terms of golf skills, we will place a heavy focus on course management strategies to improve our overall performance during matches and tournaments. Finally, we are looking forward to entering the CVC and gaining experience against a new set of teams.”
With experienced upperclassmen, an influx of young talent, and the excitement of competing in a new conference, the Rangers hope this season lays the foundation for continued growth while becoming increasingly competitive throughout the fall.
